Insights on Living E-letter January 2004 issue Self Love Be honest in your estimate of yourselves, measuring your value by how much faith God has given you. (1) Healthy self esteem is an honest appraisal of ourselves, not proud because of the gifts and abilities God has given us, yet not so modest that we fail to use our gifts and abilities to their full potential. (2) Balance, it seems to pop up every where ~ a balanced life, diet and checkbook, to name a few. Being out of balance on either side of self love will cause problems in our lives. Being too proud and full of ourselves leads us to believe that we can do everything on our own. We tend to ignore good information from others because, well, they have no idea what they are talking about since we already have all the answers. Being too modest leads us to hide within ourselves and not experience a fullness of life because we don’t feel like we deserve it. God created each of us as a one of a kind masterpiece with specific talents. And when we fully use those talents we accomplish very amazing things. What are your talents? How are you using them? Let us commit to one another to have a healthy view of ourselves this year. When we do this, we will be open to the fabulous ways God wants to work in our lives.
